Search mTn insertion point data
Clones of interest within our collection may be identified by performing a category-specific search of "insertion point" data. To illustrate, we may search TRIPLES for any strains carrying in-frame transposon insertions in genes within chromosome III: category-specific searches may be initiated without specifying a gene name or clone ID. To refine our search further, we may restrict reported output to those strains assigned clone IDs beginning with "V10" (using the percentage sign as a wildcard character, "V10%" may be entered as a clone ID). Practically, limiting our search in this manner is sometimes useful, as all strains containing a clone ID beginning with V10 would be found frozen in a single storage plate. The output from this search presents a table of selected strains with corresponding insertion point data; each clone ID within this table may be selected to generate a composite report for that clone. As an example, we can easily view a composite report for strain V10G12 by clicking on its clone ID.
