Search gene expression data
Using mTn-encoded lacZ as a reporter, we have analyzed mRNA expression patterns for transposon-tagged genes under a variety of growth conditions. Our expression data may be searched to identify genes within our collection expressed under conditions of vegetative growth, sporulation, and glucose/nitrogen starvation. For example, we may view expression data for any strain carrying a transposon insertion within SMK1 (a gene encoding a sporulation-specific protein kinase) by entering "SMK1" in the "Gene or ORF" field. To obtain all expression records, we may leave the "growth condition" field blank. Returned output indicates strain V45B1 carries a mTn-mutagenized smk1 allele. By clicking on its clone ID, we may view a composite report of V45B1; note that lacZ is strongly induced during sporulation (expression score of 3 during sporulation as compared to a score of 1 during vegetative growth).
